Gangotri Glacier Trek (Gaumukh Tapovan)

The Gangotri Trek in the Garhwal Himalayas is an exciting and spirtual experience to the source of the Ganges river. The 8 day trek starts from a small temple town of Gangotri. Enroute to get to see Bhagrathi Peaks, Meru  and the most impressive view of Mount Shivling. Mount Shivaling was called "Indian matterhorn Peak" by early Europoean Trekkers as it is one of the most beautiful peaks in the world. You get close to Gaumukh where you can see the Cow's snout shape on the glacier from which the River Ganges starts as a small ice-melt stream. Climbing over the glacier you reach the beautiful meadow of Tapovan which gives you a 360 degree view of the most amazing himalayan landscape you will ever see.
