NAGALA : ADVENTURE TREK PROGRAM

Trek date: Saturday Dec 23 & Dec 24 (Saturday/Sunday)
For Trekkers from Trichy by AC Tempo Traveller - Rs. 2900 excludes enroute food,water etc. Cost includes Van charges / Trek fee / Campout dinner/ Trek breakfast / Trek Lunch / Local guide charges / Entry Permits / Tolls/ Night Stay in open place near Trek start point.
For Trekkers joining from Chennai - Rs.1900 Cost includes Trek fee / Van charges / Trek breakfast / Trek Lunch / Entry permits / Local guide charges. Cost excludes water / enroute expenses.
Terrain: Moderate in most places / Difficult in some stretches since some rock climbing is involved. The heat too makes it tough. But trail gets cool and easy once you are over the top.
Nagala is a village about 90kms North East of Chennai in the Chittoor District. Its the start of the Deccan Plateau. Though it looks dry from far, once you climb up the cliff and go over the top trekkers will be amazed to see how much greenery and water is available on the top. This is one of the rare places in South India where there is water all through the year. The trek will also have some rocky cliffs to climb, open to sun in some areas. The route is about 14 kms and we return via the same route. Possibility of bathing in the mini waterfalls and swimming in the cool ponds is an option (Only for persons who know swimming and also have flotation devices). Plan for Trekkers From Trichy:
Saturday, Dec 23rd.
Leave Trichy by Tempo Traveller at 5:30 am from Campion school, Cantonment.
Breakfast and lunch enroute (own)
Cross Chennai by 1 pm and reach Nagalapuram by 3 pm
Setup campsite. Night stay in a makeshift campsite / Village house.
Campsite dinner.
Plan for Trekkers joining at Chennai
Sat, Dec 23, 11 am - Assemble at Egmore Railway station OR at Koyambedu
Have early lunch and leave for Nagala
Reach Campsite by 3 pm.
Setup campsite. Night stay in a makeshift campsite / Village house.
Campsite dinner.
Sunday Dec 24th:
Have early breakfast at Campsite
Reach the start point by 7.30am.
8am start trek with packed lunch
5 pm - Return to base
7.30 pm - Chennai group reach chennai. Trekkers in Trichy Van drive straight back to trichy . Dinner enroute (own) and reach trichy late night.
